June 2017 Wrap up & Mini Haul

So July is here…where has the first half of the year gone?! This month I read a total of 4 books. In my June TBR, I listed 5 books that I wanted to read. I read 3 of them and I am almost done with one (I am hoping to finish it today…fingers crossed). This month has been crazy at work and when I get home, I just want to workout, eat, and go to bed. So not too much time for reading, so I am ok with the amount I read.

The Books I Read in June…

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertali – 4 Stars

I Heart Paris (I Heart #3) by Lindsey Kelk – 4 Stars

Uglies (Uglies #1) by Scott Westerfeld – 3.5 Stars

I Heart Vegas (I Heart #4) by Lindsey Kelk – 3 Stars

June TBR Books I didn’t complete or get to…

Three Dark Crowns (Three Dark Crowns #1) by Kendare Blake
This is the one I am almost done with and am hoping to have it finished today.

Checkmate: This is Reckless (Drew and Courtney #1) by Kennedy Fox (ebook)
I just simply did not get to this one.

Mini Haul!

I acquired a few books this month! I am trying to not buy so man so I will read the books I already own. But I went to a big mall with my family and there was a book store with bargain books…so i paid less than $15 for the first 3 listed below and then the last 2 I got in my June Owlcrate!

A Book of Spirits and Thieves (Spirits and Thieves #1) by Morgan Rhodes

Unhooked by Lisa Maxwell

Neverhome by Laird Hunt

The Sandcastle Empire by Kayla Olson

New World Rising by Jennifer Wilson

And that is all for this wrap up! Look out for my July TBR!

Thanks for reading!

May 2017 Wrap-Up

I am sad to say that this month was rather slow. I read only one book and listened to two audio books. I hope to get thoughts up on them soon, but I really suck at writing my thoughts…c’est la vie!

What I read/listened to….

A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOTAR #3) by Sarah J. Maas – 5 stars
While this was not as good as ACOMAF and there are some things that I did not like about it, I still overall enjoyed it and can’t believe Feyre and Rhys’ story is over! I am so sad! This trilogy will always hold a special place in my heart!

I Heart New York (I Heart #1) by Lindsey Kelk (audiobook) – 4 stars
Calling all Sophie Kinsella fans! If you have not read this series…put these on your TBR NOW! You won’t be disappointed!

I Heart Hollywood (I Heart #2) by Lindsey Kelk (audiobook)  – 4 stars
Angela Clark is back and in as much drama as ever! I maintain my original statement of all Sophie Kinsella fans need to check this series out!

And that is a wrap! I guess I should probably figure out a TBR for June! I might read more if I have a list to get through!

Thanks for reading!

Wrap-Up – April 2017

And another month bites the dust. I just cannot grasp the fact that it is actually May! Where is this year going? We are going to blink and it’s is going to be Christmas!

So to sum up, April was a pretty good month for me. I consumed a total of 8 books. Three were audio books and 5 were not. Only 2 re-reads this month.

I hope to get better at posting my thoughts on books in the future. My intentions are to post the links to the individual posts once they are live. But for now…a list with short thoughts!

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller  *5 stars
I loved this one! I read almost the whole thing in one sitting. It was so fun and Alosa was such a spunky character. I really enjoyed her antics. I can’t wait for the next one!

Checkmate: This is War (Travis & Viola #1) by Kennedy Fox  *5 stars
This is another one that I read rather quickly. Growing up with an older brother, the “older brother’s friend” story was something I was interested in and wanted to give a try. This one did not disappoint. And might I add, the Harry Potter references were a nice touch.

Checkmate: This is Love (Travis & Viola #2) by Kennedy Fox  *5 stars
After I read the first one, I just HAD to know how this story ends! It went in a direction I was NOT expecting, but it was such a good ending…it was the ending I didn’t know I wanted! I am officially a fan of Kennedy Fox.

A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR #1) by Sarah J. Maas – Reread  *5 stars
Of course I had to reread ACOTAR in anticipation of ACOWAR. It was just as good as the first time. I enjoyed seeing things a little different since I know what happens in ACOMAF.

A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOTAR #2) by Sarah J. Maas – Reread  *5 stars
And then there is my reread of ACOMAF…I must say I handled this way better than I did the first time. I am able to function and not a hollow shell due to the earth shattering that was the last like 10% of the book. I am insanely excited for the next one!

Rook by Sharon Cameron *4 stars
This books was very different from what I normally read. I was set in the future but reads like a historical fiction. And you can’t tell if you trust René or not…or you do…or you don’t…YOU JUST DON’T KNOW!

Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella  *3 stars
This was my first Sophie Kinsella book and it was good. I don’t think it would be my favorite of hers, but I am definitely want to try more of her stuff. It was so outrageous. I can’t wait to see what else she has.

I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella  *4 stars
After Wedding Night,
I knew I had to try more Sophie Kinsella! I’ve Got Your Number did not disappoint. I enjoyed how there were different story lines and they flowed and then the little bit of mystery. So much fun!

That is what I read this month! I don’t have all my thought posts up but hopefully I will do better in the future.

Thanks for reading!
