The Happiness Tag!

A huge thanks to Jeannie @ A Happy Clam for tagging me to do The Happiness Tag! Go check her blog out! So let’s get started!

5  Things that Make Me HAPPY

1. My Dog

I have a little Yorkie named Lilly, but we call her Little most of the time. She is the light of my life! I knew I was getting her before she was born and I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She is a spazzy little thing and the biggest cuddle bug ever.

2. My Bookshelf

Obviously, my books make me happy. My bookshelf is an antique hutch with glass windows and doors and it is so pretty. I love to look at my collection.

3. My Boyfriend

J is the biggest goofball on the planet. He always knows how to make me laugh and it puts up with my constant fangirl-ing.

4. Our home

Last July, J and I bought a house. It has been a real learning exprience. Keeping it clean and decorating it has been a lot of work, but I love it. I love having a place that is ours. I get so happy when I pull into our driveway and see our house.

5. Donuts

I just want all the chocolate iced glazed donuts…all of them!

5 Songs that Make Me Happy

I have been on a major Cab kick so majority of these are going to be by The Cab. I know that they aren’t all the “happy” songs, but they are the ones I go to when I am looking for something to sing in my car!

Animal by The Cab

La La by The Cab

Bad by The Cab

Another Me by The Cab

Now or Never by Halsey

The Liebster Award

The sweet Lyndsey over at Lyndsey’s Book Blog nominated me for The Liebster Award! So thank you, Lyndsey! This is going to be so fun! I love seeing tags and awards because it helps me find new blogs.

The Rules

  • Thank the person(s) who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions they gave you.
  • Nominate 11 blogs and let them know they’ve been tagged.
  • Give them 11 questions to answer.

Lyndsey’s Questions

If you could live in any fictional world (doesn’t have to be fantasy, just any book world) which would it be?Which fantasy creature would you love to have as a pet?

Oh goodness! I don’t know. I would say Pyrthian, but I am a human and would probably be eaten. Let’s go with the world of Harry Potter! Perhaps I could be a wizard! THAT would be fun!…speaking of, I really need to go back to Universal!

If you could control one of the elements (earth, air, water, fire) which would you choose?

Probably water. I love water! Huge bodies of water are so pretty and it would so cool to control it. Also, I would imagine that would make watering my plants much easier!

Do you prefer tea or coffee? How do you take it?

I enjoy both, but do not leave the house in the morning without coffee. I like it with some sugar and creamer. If I have tea, I like black tea with sugar and milk and I like my green tea with honey and a small splash of apple cider vinegar…don’t knock it till you try it!

Would you rather be too hot or too cold?

I guess too cold. We recently had issues with our A/C unit and spent the winter with it being in the 60s in our house and then when spring hit and it started getting hot, it was closer to 80 degrees. I would have much rather it be cold than hot.

What’s your favourite colour?

Do I have to pick one? I like pink, turquoise, grey, and navy.

Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Team Edward all the way!

Go to your Goodreads to read list, what’s the fifth book on your list?

Specials (Uglies #3) by Scott Westerfeld

Ketchup or mayonnaise?

BBQ Sauce!

Do you prefer paperbacks, hardbacks, ebooks or audiobooks?

I like them all. I am always reading some book and listening to an audiobook in the car. As far as paperback, hardback, or ebook. This has been an ongoing debate in my head. I go through phases. Sometimes I read a bunch of hardbacks, sometimes I binge read ebooks.

Who would be your dream book boy/girlfriend?

RHYSAND, Duh!

My Questions

  • Where is your favorite place to read?
  • If you went to the bookstore right now, what one book would you buy?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • Physical books or ebooks? If both, how do you decided what format?
  • What are you going to read next?
  • If you could take a book-cation (a vacation to read) anywhere in the world, where would you go?
  • Your favorite author?
  • If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have 5 books, what would they be?
  • If you were to be a character from any novel, who would it be and why?
  • Pull a cast of characters from different books that you think would make an amazing novel of their own.
  • What is your reading story? How did you become the reader you are today?

The High School Book Tag

Thank you so much Read with Katie for tagging me!

The Rules:

A+ ON THE TEST: A BOOK OR CHARACTER THAT MAKES YOU SMILE

17927395

A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOTAR #2) by Sarah J. Maas

Oh. My. Goodness. This book. I love it so much and I can’t help but smile every time I read it. The dynamics. The slow burn romance. And then there is Rhysand. Good hearted dreamer in the monster’s mask. *le sigh*

SPORTS TEAM: A FICTIONAL FAMILY THAT YOU WANT TO BE PART OF?

23766634

A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOTAR #3) by Sarah J. Maas

The inner circle is my ultimate squad goals. They stick up for each other, push each other to grow, love each other unconditionally, joke with infinite amounts of sarcasm. What more could you want in your family.

CLASS PRESIDENT: A BOOK THAT TRIES TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

30653853

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

This adorable novel attacks many issues, like body image and homosexuality. I left this book with such a warm feeling about love and my body. Albertalli makes you feel like everyone and body is beautiful and it is ok to love yourself and whoever you want.

HIGH SCHOOL SWEET HEART: A BOOK CHARACTER YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON

17927395

A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOTAR #2) by Sarah J. Maas

Rhysand! Rhysand! Rhysand! Rhysand! Rhysand!

PROM NIGHT: A BOOK WITH A BEAUTIFUL COVER

25817407

The Siren by Kiera Cass

<<<<<<< This. Cover.

SPRING BREAK: A BOOK YOU CAN ALWAYS TURN TO WHEN YOU NEED AN ESCAPE

3

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Harry Potter #1) by J.K. Rowling

This entire series is the perfect definition of an escape. You can run away to an alternate world where there are wizards and magic. I feel like no matter what, entering the world of Harry Potter makes you feel less alone. Hogwarts will always be home.

SCHOOL LUNCH: A book character(s) you want to have lunch with?

6202661I Heart New York (I Heart #1) by Lindsey Kelk

Angela Clark has so much drama. I think it would be fun to have lunch with her and Jenny. Both of them are so different from me, I think it would be a good time.

HALLOWEEN PARTY: A BOOK CHARACTER YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE FOR A DAY

16034235

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1) by Sarah J. Maas

I think it would be so much fun to be the beautiful, ass-kicking Celaena. She seriously is my spirit animal (well a combination of her and Feyre). I love how she doesn’t take shit from anyone, but she still has a good heart and tries to do what is right. I would seriously dress up as her for Halloween but I don’t think my friends would get the reference.

SCHOOL BULLY: A VILLAIN YOU DON’T WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL WITH

12954620.jpg

Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms #1) by Morgan Rhodes

Gaius is a character that I would NOT like to encounter. The bloodthirsty, ruthless king that is all kinds of twisted in the head really needs his ass handed to him on a silver platter. I don’t know how this series end, but I hope it is something similar to that!

GRADUATION: A BOOK WITH A BITTERSWEET CONCLUSION

7260188

Mockingjay (The Hunger Games #3) by Suzanne Collins

While we are glad the games are over, we are sad that so many had to die.

TAG TUESDAY: New Book Blogger Tag!

I think I am going to start doing a new thing… TAG TUESDAY! I apologize in advance if this has already been created (I am assuming it has been because I am not very creative). So on the second Tuesday of each month, I will do a tag post! I think it sounds like a lot of fun and I am excited! Comment below and let me know your favorite bookish tags!

Now without further ado…my first TAG TUESDAY…

Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog because I don’t have a lot friends that share my love of books or enjoy the genre of books I like. I wanted a place to rant, rave, scream, cry, vent, and just freak out about my favorite books!

What are some fun and unique things you can bring to book blogging?
I don’t know. I really haven’t gotten that far. I hope that I can just make some friends and share my favorite books. Maybe people will try something new or find their next favorite book by one of my posts!

What are you most excited about for this new blog?
Making friends and being able to talk about books! People in my life just don’t understand…

Why do you love reading?
Reading is my adventure. I can visit different worlds, live, perspectives. Live vicariously through characters. Anything is possible in books.

What book or series got you into reading?
I know there is a lot of controversy and I know there are many negative comments on it, but Twilight is the series that got me reading. I remember when I got the first book. It was at a school book fair and I was so excited! That series will always have a special place in my heart!

What questions would you ask your favorite book bloggers?
My questions would probably revolve around finding time to read, have a life, and keep up with posts. And how to find unique post ideas. Right now I have a few post ideas, but I am sure I will run out one day!

What challenges do you think starting a blog will be the hardest to overcome?
The only think that worries me (aside from my previous concerns of running out of content) is finding time to write posts. They are rather time consuming and I feel torn between reading and writing. But I suppose once I find a schedule that will work itself out!

So there you have it! My very first TAG TUESDAY post!

Comment below with any tips you have for me as a new blogger!

T5W – Authors You Want to Read More From

Well hello and Happy Wednesday!

I am very excited to do my first Top 5 Wednesday post! This meme was created by Lainey from Ginger Reads Lainey and Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. You can visit the Goodreads group here.

So this week, the theme is authors you want to read more from.

And my top 5 are…

4575289

LEIGH BARDUGO

I have read 1 book by Leigh Bardugo. It was Shadow and Bone. And I devoured it! I definitely need to pick up more Bardugo. Finishing the Grisha Trilogy is high on my list and then gett o Six of Crows (which I have heard only great things about)! Ah, I can’t wait!

15572101

KENNEDY FOX

Kennedy Fox is a secret duology that writes romance novels. I recently decided to try some New Adult books and picked up Travis and Viola’s Checkmate duo. It was so cute! And oh, the Harry Potter references! I was sold! I still have Courtney and Drew’s duology to read. The second book just came out. I have the first one. I can’t wait to read that set and anything else published!

6160

SOPHIE KINSELLA

Why did I wait so long to read Sophie Kinsella?! They are adorable and witty and so outrageously fun! I listened to Wedding Night and now I am listening to I’ve Got Your Number. I’m really enjoying them! I own Confessions of a Shopaholic and Twenties Girl and am excited to read them!

14358948

TRICIA LEVENSELLER

I got The Daughter of the Pirate King in last month’s Owlcrate and I read it in one night! It was a gem! I literally laughed out loud at some parts. (My personal favorite line…“Look! I gave this squid your face.”) I need the next one now and I need more by her!

3433047

THE QUEEN: SARAH J MAAS

I have read everything she’s put out. Well…almost…I own The Assassin’s Blade but I haven’t read it yet. I need more! All the books…All the Maas…All the Maas books. Just sign me up right now. I will never not read a SJM book!

And there you have it folks! My top 5 authors that I need to read more of or just simply need more from!

Thanks for reading!

xoxo

P.S….(**all photos were taken from Goodreads! I do not claim any of them are mine!)
