Down the TBR Hole #11

And here’s to another Saturday spend cleaning up my TBR!

This was started by Lia from Lost In A Story and instructions are:

Anyway, it works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

The fact that I (you?) will be repeating this process every week means that I have to keep track of where I ended and where I’m going to continue. E.g. in week one I do book 1 – 5, in week two book 6 – 10, and so on, until I’ve filtered out my entire TBR.

My TBR Selections for this week are…

Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama

I love mermaids…I wish I was a mermaid…so I am all about this book!

Final Verdict: It stays.

Blackhearts (Blackhearts #1) by Nicole Castorman

I grew up in North Carolina and in school the taught us about the history of the state and that included Black Beard. So this one really interests me. I am so excited to see what was taught to me when I was young be put into a story.

Final Verdict: It stays.

The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury

While this one does sound interesting, a reviewer I trust said that she came out of this book expecting more epic things… So I think I am going to trust her.

Final Verdict: It goes.

The Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas

I do love a good fantasy novel.

Final Verdict: It stays.

For Darkness Shows the Stars (For Darkness Shows the Stars #1) by Diana Peterfreund

This is sounding to me like it would be similar to the Winner’s trilogy. Not in the actual story, but in the execution. The description says that it is inspired by Persuasion by Jane Austen, so maybe I will read that and then read this.

Final Verdict: It stays.

Thanks for reading!
